My passion is the Lord Jesus Christ and everything else in my world revolves around this. I love to read and write. I love music. I play the piano. I don't sing and everyone can be glad of that. I find humor easily.
Carried by the wind and placed on fertile ground somewhere. Fed by clouds, and earth, and sun with tender loving care. And soon a miracle occurs. It's alive and green and growing. It reaches upward to the sky its beauty never knowing.
It sways so gently in the breeze, content to just be living. Asking nothing from this world, but to the world always giving pleasure from its beauty, as it's slowly growing. Not aware of those who gaze, and of its beauty never knowing.

THE REMEDY
As a fair-haired, toddling child small, With whimpering voice to Mama I'd call, And she would place me on apron'd knee, And share with me her warm sweet tea.
And oft through those childhood years came times, That chills would grab, and fevers climb. She'd put me to bed as quick as could be, And Mama would bring me warm sweet tea.
And there were times that I'd pretend, So that the day with her I'd spend. I'd moan, "Oh I'm as sick as I can be", Though not convinced, she'd fetch the tea.
When I was grown with babes on the way, enduring nausea every day, She'd ring me up, concerned you see, and advising, "drink warm sweet tea".
And, I recall when my head would ache, Mama would say, "you need a break", And she's say with parental authority, "Go fix yourself a cup of tea".
Just think how lovely would be this world, If all the leaders under flags unfurled, Would extend their hand to their enemy, And offer up some warm sweet tea.
Today up in Heaven, I know, Where streets do shine and mansions glow, There's a dear sweet saint who's waiting for me, And in her hand is a cup of tea.

The Blessing of Friends
May the gleaming rays of friendship Ever shine their brilliant light. Through joyous happy days ahead, And as a beacon throught the night. This friendship that we share, is wealth beyond all measure. nowhere could one find, if sought, so valuable a treasure. Friends full of sweet compassion, with shoulders ever waiting, to catch escaping tears, until the flow's abating. Friends with extended hand, Friends who kneel in prayer, for any type of need arising, These friends are always there. Yes, may this light of friendship ever shine so bright. May the glow of love contained in it never lose the light.
Scripture Thought For Today
1 Corinthians 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.
In the verses just before this Paul has said that the Jews demand miraculous signs and the Greeks look for wisdom. The point he is making is that Jesus Christ is everything. In verse 24 Christ is identified as the power of God and the wisdom of God.
We are a society filled with knowledge and education but starving for wisdom. Let 2009 be a year that men seek after wisdom, and let them realize that wisdom is found in Christ.
Scripture Thought For Today
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. The Messiah, who came into the world as a human baby, would become so many things. He would have many titles. He would fill so many different roles to meet all of our many different needs. He became for us our Savior, and our Redeemer. In this scripture, he is called our "Everlasting Father". We have become a society filled with persons hungry for the love of a father. This is a craving and a need deep in the heart of every person that does not go away. There are parents and even grandparents that are still hungering for a father's love. There is a loving father available to us who will never leave us. There is a father available to us who is not sidetracked by other interests. He is consumed with love for us. We are the object of his affection and he always has our best interest in mind. And, he is the biggest dad on the block. It is comforting to remember that our Messiah is also our Everlasting Father.
SCRIPTURE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. It is so easy to conform, but as followers of Christ we are called upon to be transformed. We have to have our thinking changed, our minds renewed. When we allow our minds to think like God thinks then we come to understand what His will is. He gave us His Word so that we can have renewed minds.
